“Do I need a social casino promo code to claim bonuses at sweepstakes platforms?” We've often come across this question from players who are genuinely confused about it. The good news is that we've found the most appropriate answer.
In truth, promo codes are great to have, but nothing stops you from claiming bonuses without them. In essence, you won't need them to enjoy promotions at most sweepstakes casinos, except on brands that specifically require them. On this page, we'll highlight the top platforms that offer welcome bonuses, alongside other promotions that may or may not need bonus codes.

A social casino bonus code is a combination of characters that you enter on sweepstakes sites to claim bonuses. These characters, which are also called promo codes, can be made up of alphabets, numbers, or an alphanumeric combination. It's important to note that the terms “social” and “sweepstakes” are often used interchangeably to describe the same gaming models.
Brands that fall under either category are expected to have a no-purchase, free-to-play policy. This means you're not mandated to top-up your balance to access any bonuses. So what do these sites do instead? They offer free virtual currencies for playing games, and one of the ways they do that is through promo codes. Entering a code is typically a straightforward deal.
Most sweepstakes brands will want it entered during registration, while others will make provision for it somewhere in your profile. Regardless of where it needs to be entered, you'll come across an empty field that's provided just for this purpose. Now once a valid code is typed in and submitted, the corresponding bonus will be unlocked instantly.
The virtual currencies that are offered through these codes are of two types generally. They are:
Quite simply, not all social or sweepstakes bonuses are tied to codes. As a matter of fact, most of the promotions you'll come across at these sites don't need any codes to be accessed. Usually, once you visit a platform and complete registration, the social casino sign up bonus will be applied immediately. It's a similar case for existing player promotions that are meant to be ongoing throughout your stay on the website.
Other than the fact that bonus codes give you access to certain promotions, nothing else is special about them. However, if you come across a brand that offers an exclusive promo code, we advise you to use it as soon as possible. This is because it may unlock a better bonus compared to what's released without one.
All promotions, including the welcome bonus at social gaming platforms, are free to access. However, keep in mind that these offers shouldn't be mistaken for a social casino no deposit bonus because of how they're claimed. The no-purchase policy that's in place at social casinos prevents any type of balance replenishment. As a first-time visitor, the best way to get your hands on free virtual currencies is from no-purchase welcome offers.
To be clear once more, some sweepstakes brands may ask for promo codes, but most don't. Below, we've put together a summary of top platforms in the US and their new player bonuses:
| Social casino brands | No-purchase welcome bonus | Promo code |
|---|---|---|
| CrownCoinsCasino | 100,000 Crown Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
| Hello Millions | 15,000 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
| Jackpota | 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
| McLuck | 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
| MegaBonanza | 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
| PlayFame | 10,000 Gold Coins and 3 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
| SpinQuest | 110,000 Gold Coins and 3 Sweeps Coins | Not required |
Crown Coins Casino is one of the few sweepstakes brands that can be accessed from 37 US states. Interested players who are at least 18 years old in these locations can register on the website and go on to claim the welcome bonus, no promo codes needed.
Currently, the platform offers new users in eligible states a package that includes 100,000 Crown Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins. For now, the restricted states where you can't access the site's bonuses are .
Sweeps Coins are part of the virtual currencies you'll receive when you sign up newly at Hello Millions. The total package comes with 15,000 GC and 2.5 free SC. Unlike Gold Coins, you can actually turn the Sweeps Coins from this bonus into cash prizes or gift cards.
But what thrilled us the most about this is that you only need to have a minimum of 10 SC for gift cards and 50 SC for cash prizes. If you browse the rest of our social casino reviews, you'll notice that these limits are among the lowest you'll ever come across. Of course, you must first complete the 1x playthrough requirement on your SC bonuses to make them eligible for redemption.
At just 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins, the welcome package at Jackpots is at the lower end compared to other brands on our list. However, the platform’s progressive jackpot system allows you to randomly trigger a jackpot prize on any spin.
These jackpots are available on every slot, including NetGaming titles, on the platform. So you have to keep playing with your GC balance, as every spin can trigger one of the following four jackpot prizes:
One of the best features of McLuck is how it has integrated top-quality live casino games into the sweepstakes model. While most social casinos focus on slots, McLuck has successfully mimicked the traditional Vegas-style experience without requiring a purchase.
This means you can use the 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC in the welcome bonus to play live games. These titles, such as Gravity Blackjack and Live Roulette, are all streamed from land-based studios in real time. However, since you're only playing with virtual currencies, prizes are only available in the corresponding GC or SC. If you prefer traditional casino gaming, see our casino bonuses page for promotions that allow you to get real cash from live dealer games.
Over 1,200 games are available in the MegaBonanza lobby, and you can play any with the site's no-purchase promotions. After signing up, you'll receive 7,500 GC and 2.5 SC without entering a social casino promo code.
Unlike certain brands that feature a limited selection of providers, MegaBonanza has an unusually high concentration of elite developers. They include big names like NetGaming, Pragmatic Play, Relax Gaming, and Playson. This means your virtual currencies will be put to good use, as many slots from these studios are bonus-rich and offer high max multipliers.
The one thing that sets PlayFame apart from most social casinos is its support for crypto purchases and redemptions. Very few brands support cryptocurrencies, so this was something we couldn't just overlook during our social casino bonus reviews. Currently, a total of six crypto tokens are accepted.
They include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Tether (USDT), and USD Coin (USDC). There's one rule, however, that's tied to how crypto redemptions work. It states that only Sweeps Coins received via crypto purchases can be redeemed with cryptocurrencies. However, if you prefer the gift card or bank transfer route, you can explore the sweepstakes side of things in our sweepstakes casinos guide.
Among the sweepstakes brands we've covered so far, SpinQuest offers the biggest welcome package to new players. The bonus includes a total of 110,000 Gold Coins and 3 Sweeps Coins that can be claimed right after completing and submitting the registration form. It should be clear that we were able to grab this offer without entering a social casino promo code.
Keep in mind that you also have to be physically located in a legal state to successfully access the SpinQuest website. Using a VPN wouldn't work, and your device's GPS must be turned on the entire time. But there's no need to worry too much because the states where SpinQuest is restricted are just 13. They are California, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Tennessee, and Washington.
Aside from the welcome bonus, many social casinos are known for their extensive lineup of promotions. Many of these offers will not require you to go searching for bonus codes, but in some cases, you might need one if the terms calls for it. These days, we've discovered that newer sweepstakes sites prefer offering bonuses without tying them to unnecessary codes.
If you prefer this, you can check the latest sites on our new social casinos page to make your choice. That said, here's a quick overview of the main types of promotions on these social casinos that may or may not need promo codes:
These are the rewards you can get by registering at a sweepstakes casino for the first time. Sometimes, you may need to enter a bonus code during or immediately after registration for a bigger reward. But it's not something that happens often from our experience.
A daily bonus that's dependent on you logging in to your account won't need a code to be activated. You simply have to visit the platform you signed up on every 24 hours, log in to your account, and claim the corresponding bonus for that day. On some sites, the amount of virtual currencies you'll receive is constant, while it changes daily at others.
Sweepstakes casinos that have active social media accounts often use it as an outlet for distributing bonuses. These perks must be offered in GC or SC, or even as promo codes. What you can do is to make sure you're following the official accounts of your favorite brands so you don't miss any of these deals. The popular channels where these events usually take place are Facebook, X, Instagram, and Telegram.
In this promotion, you can invite your friends to register at platforms that you're active on and be rewarded for it. The only code you'll need for this is called a referral code, which is completely different from a regular bonus code. On sites that feature this promotion, you'll find your unique code (or link) on the refer-a-friend section. You can then copy it and send it to those you want to sign up.
These are one of the longest-running promotions you'll find at social casinos. They're designed to reward players who are consistent with their gameplay, meaning you should be a regular user to benefit from them. VIP programs are typically level-based, and your gameplay activity is what moves you up the tiers, so no bonus codes are required.
Another common promotion you'll often enjoy at sweepstakes sites is the alternate method of entry (AMOE). It's a special way to request Sweeps Coins, and no bonus codes are needed as part of the procedure. What you need to do is send a handwritten letter that follows the exact instructions that are applicable on each platform. If your request is approved, you'll be rewarded with a fixed number of Sweeps Coins.
If you've gotten your hands on a valid bonus code and want to use it, there are specific steps to take. For new players, it'll likely be entered during registration, but for existing players, the procedure is a bit different. Below, we've provided the steps for using social casino sign up bonus codes at registration:
Start by clicking any of the banners we've provided on this page to visit your preferred sweepstakes brand.
Tap the “Sign Up” or “Register” button on the homepage to fill out the registration form.
Provide the required information, such as your email address, phone number, full legal name, and residential address.
If a promo code is needed to activate or boost the welcome offer, an empty field will be shown. Simply enter the code in the space provided and submit the form.
Finish up by verifying your email address or phone number to confirm your new account.
Like we stated already, existing players don't need to follow the steps above to use a social casino promo code. The process is a bit more simple in this case. You would only need to log in and then visit your personal profile on the website. Once there, look for where a bonus code can be entered and type it in.
To maximize the impact of promo codes on your gameplay experience, here are some quick tips to note:
Most sweepstakes casinos don't attach bonus codes to their promotions, so you won't need to go looking for one. However, if you come across a valid social casino promo code, ensure you use it quickly to claim the relevant rewards. The brands we've recommended on this page all offer their welcome packages without any codes. So why not get started today before these changes? Simply click any of the on-page banners, and you'll be redirected to the platform to open your play account.
